Club Notes – 29th January
Annual General Meeting
A well-attended AGM was provided with comprehensive reports from club secretary Dermot Horan and Treasurer Peter Lyons. Chairman, Toni Ryan thanked all those involved in any way with the club over the past year, especially those involved in coaching and team preparation at any level. All outgoing officers were returned unopposed. Prior to the meeting, Liam Hogan gave a well-received talk on the ‘Offaly Hurling Pathway’ and we appreciate him making the effort to travel from Dublin. Read the full report here »
‘Come Dine with Me’
The club is seeking hosts for a Come Dine with Me event which will happen on 25th February. This involves hosts inviting friends to their house for a meal for which they contribute €25 each. Proceeds go to the club development fund. Following the meal, transport will be provided to and from Catherine Troy’s pub for musical and other entertainment. If interested, please contact Dermot Horan on 087-6887076 or through Facebook/Twitter. More details on the event here »
Referees Foundation Course
We have two referees who have achieved great recognition at county level. Kieran Dooley and Shane Guinan have officiated at various levels with success. Anyone wishing to pursue this example should contact club secretary Dermot Horan.
Congratulations
Well done to former County Board chairman, Pat Teehan on his comprehensive victory in his election as Vice-Chairman of Leinster Council at Leinster Convention last Saturday. Pat will assume the position of Chairman of Leinster Council in 2020. We wish him well.
Good Luck
We wish Offaly teams the best of luck in their forthcoming Allianz League campaigns.
Sympathy
We extend our deepest sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of the late Maureen Nugent, formerly from Rath who died last week in London.
